The braces fitted by Yuma Orthodontics, Inc. represent a serious investment in realigning your child’s teeth for a more functional mouth and appealing smile. While the braces are intended to be durable enough to handle basic functions, there are certain foods and activities that have the potential to damage loosen or damage some of the hardware.

Any damage to your child’s braces or problems with tooth decay will increase the amount of time they need to have braces. If something is loose or damaged, you need to call Yuma Orthodontics, Inc. as soon as possible to have the problem addressed.

When we initially installed their braces, you were given a piece of special orthodontic wax. If something comes loose or broken and a sharp point is threatening to injure their mouth, you should try to secure it inside the orthodontic wax. If you don’t have the wax handy, you can improvise with a pencil eraser.

Sometimes a spacer might fall out shortly before you are due for their next adjustment session. When this happens you should call Yuma Orthodontics, Inc. for advice or to schedule an earlier adjustment session.

If you have any problem with your child’s braces, you should call Yuma Orthodontics, Inc. at (928) 343-9559 as soon as possible to schedule an appointment.
