For a successful orthodontic experience with braces, it’s best to keep your orthodontic handbag with you at all times. This bag will have the tools you need to eliminate the discomfort you might feel throughout the day as well as help you keep your smile in tip-top shape. The tools our Yuma Orthodontics, Inc. team recommends having are:

· Orthodontic wax: Orthodontic wax is very helpful if your braces tend to poke and bother you. All you need to do is place the wax over the area that is bothersome and your lips and cheeks will gently glide over that area for the rest of the day.

· Lip balm: Lip balm is a great item to have with you because your lips tend to chap when you have braces. Chapped lips are extremely annoying. So, to keep your lips nice and fresh throughout the day, just apply the lip balm whenever necessary.

· Orthodontic elastics: Elastics are successful in moving your teeth and shifting your bite. However, they tend to break often, so it’s best to keep extras with you. That way you won’t have any delays during your treatment.

· Travel-sized oral hygiene tools: It’s very important for you to brush and floss your teeth after each meal and snack. If you do, your smile will remain clean and fresh. So, keep a small toothbrush and toothpaste with you as well as a flossing product of your choice.
